Employer options for hiring and benefits of REP status
Employers have two options for applying to hire foreign workers through the reliable and secure LMIA online portal, or by emailing a PDF application form to ESDC.
With the REP status, employers can take advantage of the following benefits:
- Fewer points of contact with ESDC due to simplified LMIA forms
- Streamlined application process for future LMIA applications aligning with the Canadian Occupational Projection System (COPS) list
- Job bank accreditation showing their recognized status
Temporary Foreign Worker Program, International Mobility Program and Express Entry system to hire foreign nationals
Employers looking to hire foreign nationals for economic reasons can explore options such as the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) and the International Mobility Program (IMP).
Employers may also use the Express Entry system to hire foreign nationals to fill open positions.
It drives the Canada Experience Class Program (CEC), Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSW), and Federal Skilled Trades Program (FST), which all draw applicants from the Express Entry pool. Those with eligible CRS scores are sent invitations to apply (ITA) in the draws.
