Visiting and staying in New Zealand will become costlier from the next month. New Zealand is increasing visa charges for students, workers and other immigrants. The New Zealand government announced that increases to visa charges, made up of fees and levies, are being introduced on 1 October 2024. The government also announced that the International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL) will also increase from 1 October 2024.

Most international visitors applying for a visa or NZeTA (New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority) to enter New Zealand need to pay a non-refundable International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL). The current charge of NZD$35 per eligible person is increasing to NZD$100 from 1 October 2024.
