A selected group of immigrants who wish to live permanently in Canada have received invitations to apply for Canada Express Entry from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). On January 10, 2024, invitations to apply for permanent residency using the Express Entry system were sent out.

Candidates from the Express Entry pool are invited to apply for permanent residency through regular Express Entry draws, also known as rounds of invitations, held by the Canadian government.

Candidates are ranked in these draws according to the results of the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). Each candidate is given a CRS score out of a possible 1200 points based on a variety of characteristics, including age, education, work experience, language competency, and others.

In total, 1510 number of invitations were issued on January 10, 2024, under the Express Entry system. Invitations are issued to eligible foreign nationals who rank among the first 1510 eligible foreign nationals in the group ranking. The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of the lowest-ranked candidate invited was set at 546.

If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles. Compared to the previous all-program Express Entry draw on December 18, the CRS cutoff score has raised by 4 points – from 542 to 546.

Express Entry drawings usually take place regularly, roughly every two weeks. But when the new categories were incorporated in 2023, this was altered.

The CRS cut-off score for each Express Entry draw varies based on the number of candidates in the pool, the program, the particular category, and the immigration targets set by the Canadian government. The lowest-ranking applicant who receives an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in the draw is likewise represented by this CRS cut-off score.

This program, Canada Express Entry, is intended for skilled immigrants who want to live permanently in Canada.

Applications for economic immigration under the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Provincial Nominee Program are processed under the supervision of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
