Four Canadian provinces extend invitations to skilled workers

The most recent Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw resulted in candidates being nominated by British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Prince Edward Island.

In addition to the existing population and labour market needs, several factors affect the number of PNP allocations a province receives.

Provincial immigration results December 19-29

British Columbia
On December 19, British Columbia invited 230 skilled workers and international graduates to apply for provincial nomination through BC PNP. The draws targeted specific occupations, with the largest draw for tech jobs, inviting 107 candidates with a minimum score of 95. Another draw for construction occupations invited 32 candidates with a minimum score of 75. The last two draws invited 29 candidates in healthcare and 62 early childcare educators/assistants, both requiring a minimum score of 60.

Manitoba
A total of 1,113 candidates with a minimum score of 601 were invited to the first draw of three for Manitoba’s Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) on December 21.

On December 28, Manitoba invited 254 candidates in three draws. The first draw invited 160 Skilled Workers with close relatives in the province (minimum score: 612). The second draw invited 67 International Education candidates, and the third draw invited 27 Skilled Workers Overseas (minimum score: 698). On December 29, 89 invitations were issued to candidates meeting criteria under Special Measures for Ukraine, who also qualified as Skilled Workers Overseas with close relatives in Manitoba.

Saskatchewan
The first SINP draw since October 23 took place on December 27 with 63 candidates invited.

The province held draws in two categories including 48 Occupations-in-Demand candidates and 15 Express Entry candidates. In both draws, candidates needed a minimum score of 69 and Educational Credential Assessments.

Prince Edward Island
A total of 26 candidates were invited from the PEI PNP’s Labour and Express Entry streams, and candidates had to be employed in the healthcare, construction, and food processing industries.

Three candidates with a minimum score of 92 were also invited from the Business Work Permit Entrepreneur category.
