How to apply for a Singapore tourist visa: A step-by-step by guide

Singapore attracts travellers from across the globe. The country with its beautiful amalgam of modernity and tradition, makes for a must-visit destination for travellers. For those planning a trip to Singapore, you’ll need to apply for a tourist visa before.

So, here’s a complete step-to-step guide on how to apply for a Singapore tourist visa.

Eligibility: It’s important to know if you need a visa as citizens of several countries are allowed visa-free entry for a short duration. You can verify based on your nationality by visiting the official website of the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) of Singapore.

Documents: If you need a visa, you’ll need all the crucial documents for your visa application.

Passport: Make sure you have a valid passport (at least six months beyond your intended stay).

Get a visa Application Form (Form 14A)
: You can download the visa application form from the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) website or from the Singapore embassy/consulate.

Recent passport-size picture: You’ll need a recently clicked passport-sized photograph with a white background.

Travel itinerary: You should have the details of your flight bookings and accommodation arrangements.

Travel Insurance: Travel insurance is always recommended when travelling to a foreign destination.

Submit your application

You can submit your Singapore tourist visa application online:

Authorised Visa Agent: One may apply for a Singapore visa through an authorized visa agent in India.

Via ICA Website: The ICA also offers online service, where the visa application can be submitted on behalf of the applicant by a local contact in Singapore who is a Singaporean Citizen or Singaporean Permanent Resident who is at least 21 years old with a SingPass account.

Visa fee: The visa application fee is typically around SGD 30 (around INR 1800). This fee is non-refundable, even if your visa application is rejected.

Track your application: You can keep a track of the status of your application online if you applied through the ICA e-Visa system. It generally takes 3 to 5 working days.

Receive your visa: Once your application is approved, you will receive an electronic visa (e-Visa) via email. Print a copy of the e-Visa to present upon arrival in Singapore.
