Turkey is home to a rich cultural scape.
When in Istanbul, head over to the Hagia Sophia grand mosque, which dates back to 537 AD. The famous Basilica Cistern is so famous that it’s been in a few movies including Tom Hanks’ Angels and Demons. And see Topkapi Palace, which has been converted into a museum. When visiting, watch out for the tulips – there’s an amazing number of them on the grounds.
Don’t forget to go to the Grand Bazaar, where you’ll find everything from gold jewellery to towels and bags at haggle-able prices.
Turkey is the latest in a long line of places that offer visa-free travel to UAE citizens. The news comes just in time for the long weekend that will usher in the New Year.
