Ramzi Ghurani, Managing Partner at Petra Insurance Brokers pointed out that the move will benefit the visitors as well.

The Emirati government has started implementing several projects, considered qualitative initiatives. These changes are expected to improve service, as part of the “We Are the Emirates 2031” vision.

The project aims to offer health coverage in emergency cases and also provide the service through an electronic platform. This platform is expected to manage the pricing and issuance of different packages from all insurance companies in the UAE.

“We the UAE 2031” contains four national priorities, including Forward Society, Forward Economy, Forward Diplomacy and Forward Ecosystem.

Dubai Tourism Sector Is On the Rise

According to data from DTCM, a total of 17.15 million people have visited Dubai in 2023. That shows an increase of 19 percent compared to 2022. Moreover, international arrivals have surpassed even the pre-pandemic times (2019), when 16.7 million visitors were recorded.

The main markets for tourism were Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), including the six Middle Eastern countries—Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman (16 percent), followed by Eastern Europe (13 percent), and MENA (12 percent).

While in 2023 there were more African tourists to Dubai, tourists from GCC and North Asia-Southeast Asia had the smallest increases for the year.

Some of the must-see attractions in Dubai include the Burj Khalifa, Miracle Garden, and Mall of the Emirates to Abu Dhabi’s Ferrari World, Qasr Al Hosn Fortress, and SeaWorld Yas Island.
