How to apply
1. First of all go to indianvisaonline.gov.in. There will be an orange button on which “Regular Visa Application” will be written. Click on it. After this, you will see questions giving information related to the visa.
2. Fill the relevant information in the form given for the visa. Like – from which country are you filling the visa form, or on which date will you reach India. Apart from this, you will also have to fill some personal details there. After this, for what purpose are you coming to India, you will also have to fill it in the form. At the end, fill the captcha code and click on the “Continue” button.
3. In the next part of the form, you will have to give some personal information. Here you will be given a temporary application ID. Write it down somewhere. You can use it when for some reason you are not able to fill the form completely. With the help of this ID, you will be able to start filling the form again from where you left it.
4. The next part of the form will be in two parts. In the first, you will have to give the application details. In the second part, you will have to give information about passport details. After filling both the parts, click on “Save and Continue”.
5. After this, in the next part of the form, you will have to give information about your address. Along with this, you will also have to fill the details of your mother and father. Along with all this, you will also have to give a mobile phone number on which you can be talked to. Without filling the phone number, you cannot go to the next page of the form.
6. After this, you will be asked about your marital status. Along with this, you will also have to give information about your profession. After filling all the details, click on “Save and Continue” or “Save and Temporarily Exit”.
7. Next, the Visa Details Form will appear in front of you. In this, you will have to provide the details related to the visa. Like – what kind of visa do you want? Number of entries, purpose of visit, etc. Finally, you will also have to tell whether you have ever applied for an Indian visa before or not? And which countries have you visited in the last 10 years.
8. On the next page, you will have to tell whether you have visited any SAARC country in the last 3 years or not. Also, at the end of the page, you will have to give a reference of a person living in India.
9. At the end, you have to upload a passport size photo of yours. For this, go to the “choose File” option given on the page and click. After choosing the photo, click on the upload button.
10. After filling the form completely, take a printout of it. In this, you will have to sign at two places. First below the photograph and second in the “Declaration” column at the end of the page.
